Mary Moore
Mary Moore
Mary Moore is a longtime activist in Sonoma County, California, where she has lead struggles against corporate malfeasance, social injustice, racism and conventional apathy. Her work in social protest began during the civil rights era of the 1960s. During the 1970s, Moore was an active member of the Abalone Alliance, an environmental group dedicated to fighting the Diablo Canyon nuclear plant. As an offshoot of her work with the Abalone Alliance, Moore founded the Bohemian Grove Action Network during the 1980s Under Moore’s leadership, the Bohemian Grove Action Network has protested at the gates of the Bohemian Grove for decades. The progression of Moore’s work as a social activist (and her focus on Bohemian Grove) reflects her growing sense that the target of protest should be those who control the financial, military, and governmental systems of control.
